Meet Doug

Experienced Banker in the Charlotte Market

Doug Smith has been in banking relationship development for nearly thirty years and has led commercial banking teams for nearly half of his career. His background spans from working for large, regional banks to most recently local community banks. Doug has expertise in working with both Commercial and Industrial (C&I) businesses ranging from $5 million to $250 million in revenue size as well as Commercial Real Estate (CRE) developers and investors. Doug has also led Treasury Management, Private Banking and Credit functions during his career. Doug enjoys a customized approach to doing business with his clients via understanding their business and catering a solution that adds value and trust to a relationship. Doug has a passion for community service and has served on the boards of several Charlotte based non profits. He is currently the Chair of the Brace Family YMCA Board of Advisors in Charlotte and is on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas. Doug graduated from Denison University with a bachelor's degree and from Capital University with a Masters of Business Administration. Doug is happily married and he and his wife have three teenage children, one of which is a studying as a Gamecock. He enjoys spending time with them, often traveling, and watching them play rugby, basketball, football and model.
