Experienced Banker in Charlotte

Murray joins Southern First with nearly 40 years of experience in the mortgage industry. After graduating from Appalachian State University with a degree in Business Communications, he began his career as a mortgage branch manager and has held roles in sales leadership, production, and regional management ever since. Throughout his career, Murray has maintained personal production while leading high-performing teams, always with a focus on collaboration, talent development, and shared success. Murray believes that “people work with people, not companies,” and he lives that out daily by building strong relationships based on trust. Murray is active in his church, leading a small group and mentoring others. Outside of work, Murray enjoys his time as a newlywed with his wife. He is the proud father of four adult children and five grandchildren. In his free time, he loves to golf, travel with friends, and attend football and basketball events at App State University.
