Meet Phillip

Director of IT in Greenville, SC

Phillip has a rich history of over 25 years working in technology. After serving in the U.S. Navy as a Submariner for six years and traveling all over the world (or “under” the world as Phillip says), he started his career in tech, designing and deploying data centers for Computers America. Next, he joined telecom startup Turin Networks, where he served as Director of IT for 10 years. Most recently, Phillip worked at FIS for nearly 12 years, serving in many roles: leading the Mobile Banking’s Operations Architecture, leading the big data platform for mobile banking and finally as Vice President of Production Cloud Services. Phillip is excited to help Southern First’s bankers enhance their relationships with their clients through technology. His management, collaboration, and cloud experience will help solve real-world business problems, and his forward-looking mentality will ensure the bank’s technology platforms support and enhance its growth. Phillip and his wife have four children and three grandchildren, and they enjoy spending time with their family and friends. Phillip also loves to read and hike.
