Experienced Banker in Charlotte
Tom has over 35 years of experience in banking, starting as a second-generation banker and taking after his father who had a storied career in the industry. He started as a teller during the summers while in college at UNC Chapel Hill and fell in love with helping people financially. Since then, he has gained a wide range of skills from his experience in commercial lending, credit, and treasury. Originally from Greenville, North Carolina, Tom has worked all over the state with 18 years in the Charlotte area. He enjoys building relationships with local businesses and helping them succeed by being a facilitator of financial solutions to meet their needs. He is community focused with a mindset of, “We are only as good as the communities we serve.” He is a 27-year Rotarian, has served as Senior Warden at his church, All Saints Episcopal, and has served on the boards or committees of the Charlotte City Club, Communities In Schools, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, and the NC A&T State University Endowment Board. He also enjoys volunteering with Junior Achievement, teaching financial education to elementary school students. Tom is happily married with two adult children. He and his wife enjoy attending Charlotte Hornets games and watching college athletics. They are very interested in theatre and the arts. Tom enjoys traveling, playing golf, and boating. Since he grew up on the coast of North Carolina, he says he is happiest when he is on the water.
